The Annual Wellness Visit

Every year, we encourage all our members to schedule a free annual wellness visit with their primary care doctor. This annual check-in is a perfect time to review your history, get a current picture of your health, and set health goals for the coming year.

Here’s what to expect:

• Height, weight, blood pressure and other routine measurements
• Medical and family history review
• Risk factor and treatment option discussion
• Health Risk Assessment questionnaire review
• Prescription and medication review
• Cognitive impairment screening
• Provider list update

The Annual physical

An annual physical is a more comprehensive exam. This very important visit includes a number of tests and measurements designed to check for illness or other physical problems.

Here’s what to expect:

• Height, weight, blood pressure and BMI measurement
• Medical and family history review
• Risk factor assessment for preventable diseases
• Vital signs check
• Head and neck exam
• Lung exam
• Abdominal exam
• Neurological exam
• Reflexes testing
• Possibly urine and blood samples sent for lab testing
• Prescription and medication revie

Key Preventive Health Screenings

Preventive screenings are an important part of staying healthy. Here are the screenings your doctor may want to set up following your annual wellness visit. As a Bright Health Medicare Advantage memberhese tests are all free to you.

Important immunizations

+Second dose is given one year after the first dose. People with certain medical conditions may receive their second dose eight weeks after the first dose.

Dental, hearing and vision benefits

All Bright Health Medicare Advantage plans have free preventive coverage:

• Dental: $0 copay oral exams, X-rays, cleaning, and fluoride treatments.
• Vision: $0 copay routine eye exam
• Hearing: $0 copay annual hearing exam

Diabetes wellness screenings

For our members with diabetes, your benefits include the following:

• Retinopathy eye exam (to check for eye damage related to diabetes.) • Blood sugar A1C test • Kidney check
